Choosing the right network when sending crypto

USDT on TRON, Ethereum or BNB Chain are different paths. Picking the wrong one is the most common costly mistake.

One token, many networks

Stablecoins such as USDT are issued on several blockchains. USDT on TRON (TRC-20), Ethereum (ERC-20) and BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) are all "USDT", but they travel on separate networks and use different address formats and fees.

Match both sides

When you withdraw from an exchange, the network you choose there must be the network of the deposit address you paste. On My Chain each network has its own clearly labelled deposit address. USDT-TRC20 goes to a TRON address starting with T, for example.

Compare fees and speed

NetworkTypical useFee paid in
TRON (TRC-20)Low-cost USDT transfersTRX / energy
Ethereum (ERC-20)Widest app supportETH
BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20)Low fees, EVM appsBNB
Solana (SPL)Fast, very low feesSOL

If you picked the wrong one

Contact support with the transaction hash straight away. Some mistakes can be recovered when the same address format exists on both networks; others cannot, which is why checking first matters.
